Coming Down The Mountain

Coming Down The Mountain

Awards

Written by the author of The Curious Incident of The Dog In The Night Time, Coming Down The Mountain is seen through the eyes of a 15 year old boy named David. David is a typical teenager with a very colourful interior life which he shares with us. He falls in love for the first time and things couldn’t be better.

The only fly in the ointment is his 16 year old brother, Ben, who he likens to a big potato or an alien – in fact, he has Downs Syndrome. When David’s parents decide to move the family from London to the back of beyond for the sake of Ben’s education, David’s antipathy to Ben grows and grows to the point where he decides to push him off a mountain and get rid of him once and for all.
