Cat Fox

Production Executive, Comedy and Comedy Entertainment

What is a typical day for you in your role at Tiger Aspect?

Every day is different, but mainly supporting the development teams and productions in both Comedy and Entertainment. Drawing up budgets, helping crew shows and discussing projects with the teams. Facilitating –lots of that!

What was your first job in the industry?

Work experience runner on CDUK which turned into paid runner. I assisted someone with the cue cards (which involved a lot of running around chasing cameras, and trying not to get wacked by the jib! – the show was live)

What other roles have you had?

From CDUK I moved to Avalon as the in house company runner. Lots of sorting and delivering post, making teas and coffees, helping set up meetings, archiving. From there I moved onto Production, running on the pilot for Al Murray’s Happy Hour. Whilst at Avalon I worked my way up from runner to production secretary, then coordinator and finally PM.

What is your favourite part of the job?

No day is exactly the same and you get to work with some really inspirational and challenging people, which never fails to keep you on your toes.

What is working life like at Tiger Aspect?

Lovely! It is a diverse, inspiring and energetic company, all whilst being hugely nurturing, friendly and positive.

What are the best and worst things about working in TV?

Best thing – the people!

Worst thing – the people! Sometimes the job can be extremely demanding and you have to remember to not put yourself last.

What tips do you have for new entrants looking to get into TV or looking for a particular role?

Work hard, keep smiling (even if you want to cry!), be a yes person, always looking for ways to assist, relieve, respond. Initiative is key, as well as understanding that despite your uni degree, you really don’t know everything – trust me – none of us know everything!

What TV shows would be in your fantasy schedule?

The West Wing, The Good Wife, Criminal Minds, Midsummer Murders, Murder in Successville, TFI Friday, Game of Thrones, Ab Fab.

Who or what would you put in Room 101?

Rude people – especially when combined with public transport!

What is the most embarrassing item in your wardrobe?

I have a fancy dress box…let’s leave it at that!

Who would you be on Stars In Their Eyes?

Freddie Mercury

What is your hidden talent?

Chair dancing
