Psychobitches Series 2
Psychobitches is back with a waiting room full of new patients.
Series two of the multiple award nominated comedy sees a whole new gang of famous females from history sitting in the psychiatrist’s chair.
All iconic, great women from the past have minds that are ripe for probing; Psychobitches allows us a rare, intimate insight in to the real person behind the legend.
Our therapist (Rebecca Front) is tasked with trying to help these celebrated women through their various issues and this time her practice has expanded. From one-to-one sessions with Mary Magdalene and her addiction to prostitution, Sleeping Beauty and her narcolepsy and a dangerous Mrs Thatcher who would give Hannibel Lecter a run for his money; to group therapy sessions with the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret to address mother and daughter issues, the Mitford Sisters with their sibling rivalry and Hitchcock’s Women being treated for trauma following their experiences working with Hitchcock himself.
Each of the acclaimed females will be played by a great female comedian in this distinct comedic take on the classic therapy set up. One room, one therapist and a waiting room full of acclaimed females. Psychobitches is about celebrating outstanding women from history and all their gloriously bonkers issues.
Starring alongside Rebecca Front as the therapist, the series will see the core cast play a number of women from history including Sharon Horgan as Bonnie Parker, Sam Spiro as Lucille Ball, Frances Barber as Elizabeth I, Kathy Burke as Queen Mother, Sheridan Smith as Sleeping Beauty, Morgana Robinson as Mary Magdalene, Michelle Gomez as Florence Nightingale and Katy Brand as Medusa.
